fault finding

Fault finding can help us locate unsafe or outdated electrical work in your home. It is often necessary as part of our other services, as fault finding is the first step to fixing any problem.

Locate recurring issues

Fault finding is the process of locating a problem that deems a circuit unacceptable. Faults can include low readings during testing or the constant tripping of a breaker, for example. Whether the problem lies within a faulty light/socket, or your junction box under the floor, we can find it and fix it.

By testing faulty circuits throughout your property, we can find the fault and make the circuits safe to use again.

We can also provide you with an electrical installation condition report (EICR). This can give you peace of mind through having written evidence of your home’s safety.

As part of another job

Whenever we do electrical additions or alterations, we always take into account the existing circuit we are working on. If a certificate is to be issued for any type of work, we must first test the existing circuit, and the part of the circuit we have worked on. This can lead to us discovering underlying faults within the circuit which must be rectified before signing off.

We will always make you aware of these problems prior to rectifying them, as there can be additional costs involved with solving the identified issue.
